High in the rugged peaks of Sardinia's Nuoro province, the secluded enclave of Desulo—home to fewer than 2,000 residents—crafts flavors shaped by alpine isolation. This mountain territory is one of only 7 municipalities authorized to produce the rare Mandrolisai DOC, a red wine defined by steep, high-altitude vineyards. In total, Desulo overlaps with 16 protected denominations, including the Provincia di Nuoro IGT.
