Filattiera, a northern Tuscan enclave of 2,152 residents in the Massa-Carrara province, yields unique delicacies shaped by its rugged Lunigiana geography. Within this specific terrain, microclimates foster 17 protected denominations. Chief among these local treasures are Farina di castagne della Lunigiana DOP, a sweet flour ground from ancient chestnut groves, and the delicate Miele della Lunigiana DOP. The valley slopes also define the terroir for Val di Magra IGT wines, which are cultivated across a limited zone of 15 municipalities.
