Where the final hills of the Cavallina Valley taper off at the foot of Mount Tomenone, just east of Bergamo, Bagnatica’s unique topography nurtures 17 protected denominations. This transition from alpine slopes to fertile lowlands creates a microclimate perfect for viticulture, centering on the prized Valcalepio DOC, shared with just 41 other municipalities. Alongside it, the Terre del Colleoni DOC and Bergamasca IGT showcase the expressive potential of local hillside vineyards. Below these heights, the moisture of the Lombard plain supports the production of traditional cheeses like the earthy Salva Cremasco DOP.
