For the base Elba Rosso, the product specifications mandate a minimum of 60% Sangiovese and restrict yields to 8.0 tons per hectare. To distinguish itself from neighbouring mainland denominations, the Elba production code enforces uncommonly strict packaging constraints across its entire portfolio: every single wine style, from dry whites to sweet passito, must display a mandatory vintage year on the label. Furthermore, final commercial bottling for all Elba DOC wines is strictly capped at a maximum volume of 3 liters.
